The manual says I should use my computers logon (not working). Installed the WebPAM Pro from Promise's page (this utility is the one showed in the list for this RAID controller). Promise pre-configured the system with Raid5 and one big Mac OSX partition.
It also automatically added a Windows Promise RAID Console SCSI Processor Device to the device list! Also the storage device was accesible and I deleted the pre-configured mac osx partition and created a new NTFS one. Some research showed me that this should be a Promise SuperTrak SAS 6GB Raid Controller and installing the Win7 drivers from Promise made the device available to me. I now have an ASRock Z77 Extreme6/TB4 with also 2 Thunderbolt connectors and I wanted to get the storage running on my Windows 7 (Home Premium) machine.Īfter attaching the storage to the PC the device manager showed a new unknown raid device (PCI\VEN_105A&DEV_8760&SUBSYS_42D1105A).
I know that this external storage was intended to be used with Macs. Got my hands on a Promise Pegasus2 R6 (6x 2TByte) with 2 Thunderbolt connectors.
